Thank you for you feedback. The observation is accurate and the reason for it to be like that is rather rational. Explained:

The product quantity can be mass-updated from the product list so if it were to represent the sum of the attribute quantities and you would update it from the product list, how would QuickUpdate know how to spread that quantity across all the attributes?...

Because this "bug" has been reported several times, we are taking into account adding another column which will display the quantity sum of attributes, but we'll check if it is viable.

Regarding the "grey out "attributes" icon" - it would be indeed a nice feature to have and i added it to the list of implementation. If it can be done we will implement it for sure.

Thanks for the feedback - the attributes window bug is recently known and will be fixed in the upcoming release of QuickUpdate. Indeed it seems to affect only the Chrome browser.

I as mentioned in the email i have sent to you already, indeed the FBML is not present anymore in the settings of the FB application, but it is nevertheless not needed anymore.

So as far as the FB Application setup goes, you should setup only the settings you can still find in the current Facebook options and all should be ok.

Any future plugin for QuickUpdate will be priced 30-40E. Of course the functionality of the plugins will have specific targets but will greatly improve on ceratin areas of the module.

Estimated time for this plugin is 2-4 weeks.

Again thank you for your help, we identified the issue (which is actually a bug) and implemented the fix into the QuickUpdate module.

Anyone also affected by the following issue, please update the module:

1. Receiving "Column count does not match value count at row 1" error when updating product descriptions.

The reduction column is not available for PS 1.4 (read the module description) because PS 1.4 has a more complex reduction system that previous versions.

We want to maintain compatibility of QuickUpdate with most versions of PS so we implemented different features depending on the PS version.

We are planning on releasing a specific plugin which will help with the complex pricing and reduction system of PS 1.4

The module is no longer called Twitter Updater, but Social Updater and adds Facebook to the list of social networks which you can use to keep customers updated .

The user manual states that "Changing product categories will change the default category for those products to the first in the list, if the previous default category is removed" (Quick Tips section), so to change the default category:

Unfortunately, the latest revision does not respect this, and may actually be the reverse, that is it is actually the last category in the list.

So the best advice is:
1. Set the product's category to only 2 categories and update
2. Observe which one gets to be the default (first / second) - this is to have the info about how quickupdate treats the categories in your revision
3. Add the additional categories.

Repeat steps 1 & 3 for each product for which you want the default category changed, knowing that the first / second category will be the default.


As a side note, there is no specialized mode of specifically changing the default category in QuickUpdate v4.0, the above is just a workaround which may help.

The "duplicate product" action has a limited functionality and offers a quick way of creating a new product with the basic characteristics of the source (name, descriptions, price, quantity). It does not actually clone the product with all the elements, you need to update them manually afterwards. Moreover, regarding your previous question, the new product will not be active by default exactly because it needs to be manually edited with all the remaining elements.

Thanks for the additional info, usually your PS version is also helpful.

If you have some expertise, please edit the following line in the "youradmin/quickupdate/database.php" file (should be line 343):

FROM: "unset($productData['id_product']);"

TO: "unset($productData['id_product'], $productData['id_lang']);"

This was not tested at this point, but should solve the issue.
